Frame members shall be of multi-chambered design. Sill shall contain an internal weepage system for efficient water drainage to the exterior. All exposed weather-stripping, hardware and fasteners shall be stainless steel, aluminum, nylon or other suitable material compatible with rigid PVC. Horizontal sliding windows will contain a drop-in PVC track for convenient cleaning and maintenance. Frame members shall have pre-punched integral 1 ¼" nailer fins.
Construction: All masterframe and sash members shall be miter-cut and fusion-welded. Double-hung sash units shall be the tilt-type. The window shall incorporate fin-type weatherstripping inserted into designed grooves and have continuous contact with frame members when in a closed position.
Glazing: All glass measures 3/4" overall using two panes of double strength annealed glass. All glass shall be set on blocks and shall be placed against double sided adhesive foam glazing tape. The fixed lite shall be heel beaded across the sill and 6" up the sides and retained on the interior with extruded one finger vinyl snap-in glazing beads, the bead corners shall be sealed. The sash shall be retained on the exterior with vinyl snap-in glazing bead.

Insect screens: All operating vents shall be designed to receive screens. Screen frames to be extruded aluminum with baked enamel color to be compatible with PVC fames. 18 x 16 fiberglass cloth meeting ASTM D3656 shall be secured to the frame using a vinyl spline. The masterframe is to be installed square with the operating sash. The sash should be operated and the masterframe should be given any necessary final adjustment to insure proper operation and weather-tightness.
Water Drainage: Water shall drain from the interior sill pocket though a 1" x 3/16" slot in the center leg at the interior sill corners to the exterior through a 1 1/4" x 5/16" slot approximately 3" from the exterior sill corners. The fixed lite glazing pocket shall drain thorough a 1/4" diameter hole at the mid-point and 1/2" from the jambs.
